A powerful emulation based music player and DJ app for retro game music
GAMBI is a emulation based music player that emulates numerous retro game console sound chips.
It allows the user to use actual game data to play and remix their favorite music.
because the app allows you to add actual game music data, played via sound chip emulation, the file sizes for each song are tiny (around 64k-256k) , but play back in perfect quality as they were on the original hardware.
Due to working in the game industry since 1989, I had numerous connections with the original composers, so was able to recruit numerous famous game musicians to supply bundled music, as well as contributing my own compositions which will be in the next app update.
The style for the UI was influenced by the "Synthwave" music genre that uses numerous 1980's graphic design tropes, and has numerous sections for building playlists, playback modes and sound channel remixing as well as utilizing external audio processing plug-ins.
